Circular footwork
Exit the attack line, circle, reset angle — control the fight geometry.
A practical principle of smart movement: defence and offence in one flowing action.
Origins of the style
Ashihara Karate is named after Hideyuki Ashihara, who shaped a rational, circular and practical full-contact path in the 1970s–80s — a clear alternative to raw force.
From that tradition comes Sabaki: a lesson in smart movement that we teach today to children and adults in Pitești, with the same respect for discipline and character.
1970s–80s
Hideyuki Ashihara develops a full-contact system centred on geometry, distance and flow — not uncontrolled aggression.
Sabaki
Defence and offence in one flowing action: leave the attack line, control ma-ai, finish with purpose.
Pitești · today
In our dojo, Sabaki is curriculum: technique, respect and belt progression — for life, not only for the podium.
Lesson 01
At the core sits Sabaki: defence and offence in one flowing action — leave the attack line, control distance, finish with purpose.
Kids learn smart body mechanics, not only raw power. It is a lesson in geometry, timing and calm — useful on the tatami and beyond it.
Sabaki curriculum
Rational whole-body movement: you train not only to strike, but to avoid being struck — safer, smarter, more efficient.
Exit the attack line, circle, reset angle — control the fight geometry.
Learn when you are safe, when you can enter, and when to finish.
Block and counter become one continuous action, not two separate ideas.
Generate force through timing, posture and hips — usable in real motion.
Learning path
Three clear steps: fundamentals, Sabaki forms, then controlled application — educational progress, not chaos.
01
Fist formation, stance, punches, kicks and blocks — clean fundamentals before intensity.

02
Original Ashihara forms that teach circular combinations alone, step by step from beginner to advanced.

03
Partner drills, mitt work and age-safe sparring that build timing, courage and respect.

Philosophy
A core Ashihara idea is that without mental strength you cannot truly practise kindness and care for others. Training aims to build character usable in everyday life — not only tournament medals.
